The trees at left are Arizona cypress from a cutting. Mr Murray found a different tree growing in a motel parking lot in Sedona Arizonia and was able to get cuttings for research. These trees have a very unusal straight out limb structure for an Arizonia Cypress. This is a desirable charistic for Christmas trees. So far these trees have remained true in form to the parent tree and it is hoped that they will develop into another variety of tree that Southeast growers can use as Christmas Trees. Mr. Murray is now calling these trees Sedona Cypress.
All Christmas tree growers in the Southeast should plan to visit Southern Christmas Trees Nursery and Plantation and get a tour of the farm conducted by Mr. Murray. Each tree has a meaning and an story. He loves to tell others what he has learned in over 50 years working with Christmas trees.
