Southern Christmas Trees Nursery and Plantation is operated by

Bill and Sara Murray.

The Murray Cypress now popular as a Christmas tree in the south was discovered growing on this farm in a planting of Leyland Cypress. The characteristics of this tree were so different from other Leylands that Mr. Murray immediately recognized the new tree as a possible asset to the Christmas tree industry.

The above photo shows a 4 yr old Murray cypress on the Murray farm. It has been cared for in same manner as other trees on farm that are scheduled to be sold as Christmas Trees. This includes shearing to improve shape of tree. Other pictures of smaller trees show limb structure better than this picture. See Murray cypress info above.
